District Governor visit and birthday celebration

Carl-Heinz Duisberg, Rotary District Governor, and his wife paid a recent visit to the Rotary Club of Swellendam.

The tour started with the DG and directors having a lunch, followed by a tour of the Drostdy Museum. Thereafter, a visit was paid to the Uitreikende Hande project. The visit was culminated with a social evening catered by the Anns and hosted in the Eic Koch room at Rotary Park.

A "build a burger" supper was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The DG emphasized the importance of growing the club and commended the club for its active involvement in the community. A celebration of the club's 55th birthday progressed with two club members assisting each other with cutting of a huge and delicious chocolate birthday cake.
