Swellendam Rotary Club awarded Rotary International Presidential Platinum Citation

The Rotary Club of Swellendam received the highest award possible for their work with the community of Swellendam over the last Rotary Year (1 July to 30 June).

The Rotary international President awarded the club his Platinum award, which was given to less than 5% of the 36,235 Rotary clubs worldwide last year.

Swellendam Rotary club have been helping the community in Buffeljags to establish a market garden to help feed those in need in that community, provided wheelchairs for many who need them, helped young people get the eye care and spectacles they need, contributed to feeding schemes during the COVID 19 outbreak in partnership with CAP, the Anglican Church and the AG Kerk in Railton, supported the Langeberg Hospice caring for the terminally ill in the community and provided books and equipment to numerous schools in the area.
