November news

November 28, 2017

Induction of August Cluver. It looks like a very serious occasion. We welcome August and his wife Judy to the Rotary family.

Induction of Nigel Coley. Welcome Nigel and Ruth to the Rotary family.

November was a very busy month for Swellendam Rotarians with tree planting at VRT Pitt School, Fraai Viooltjies Skool, Swellendam Laer Skool and the Drostdy Museum. Big thanks to Danie Theron, Brian Cole, Henri Barry and Johan Kriek for organizing the tree planting.

Bhefore November came to an end Swellendam hosted the Coronation Double Century Cycle Race  which saw over 3000 cyclists take part in a 202km race.

Swellendam Rotary were hosts to the Cycle Trust and thank you to Jerry Van Vuuren and Bernard Steyn the organizing of the catering, security, helpers on the day went without any problems.

This is Swellendam Rotary Club's main income earner for our projects.

Thank you to all Rotarians, Ann's, Interact members, CAP and friends who helped on the day.

Ann's resting before the cyclists come for lunch.

November saw the handover of the iPad Project to Swellendam Laer Skool.

The teachers completed their training and some Rotarians went back to school to witness the iPads being used.

I am not sure if any Rotarians passed, Brian seemed to fall asleep and Corrie was looking very perplexed.

We were happy to see the learners concentrating.

I would like to thank Danie Theron for taking all the photographs I use on our website and in Rotary Africa and the Langeberg Bullitin.
