The countdown has begun and I know that the District Conference in the beautiful town of Swellendam is going to be one to remember.
If you’ve never been to a Discon, now is a great time to start. The conference is in the middle of a lovely long weekend (from Freedom Day on Thursday 27 April to May Day on Monday 1 May) so travel can be leisurely. And we’ll have a great mix of information, inspiration and fun for the whole Rotary family.
Watch this space for information and details, but for your planning:
POETS will be on Thursday, followed by the Grant Management Seminar. In the evening we’ll set the scene for the next two days with the Meet and Greet event.
We kick off on Friday with the Assembly until afternoon tea and will then open the Conference. The Gala Dinner is on Friday night – bring your dancing shoes!
On Saturday we have reinstated the Paul Harris Breakfast and there will be a special event for our Anns and the Inner Wheelers. There will be a full day of speakers and interaction, closing in time for you to enjoy a sundowner before heading for the town centre to one of the restaurants that will offering great dinner deals.
As Monday is also a holiday the Swellendam team have lined up a range of activities for us on Sunday morning and we will then have a relaxed closing lunch – details to come, but think picnic, music.
Registration will open end of January so register then and book accommodation with your trip home either on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning in mind!
