Tuis Versorging received a donation of blankets and baby clothes that were knitted by the ladies of Avendson Klub vir Bejaardes. Sister Hettie and her team at Tuis Versorging received the items for distribution amongst the needy in the community. The knitting work is sponsored by the Swellendam Rotary Club. Friendship Exchange visit from Mumbai Rotarians
Members of various Rotary Clubs from Mumbai India, and a member of the Luderitz Rotary Club in Namibia, were hosted on the 24th and 25th April by Swellendam Rotary Club. Two of our Swellendam Rotarians were part of a group of Rotarians who visited Mumbai on a Rotary Friendship Exchange visit back in 2020. After Rotary Swellendam received a request, six netballs and six rugby balls with two ball pumps were handed over to Laerskool Buffeljagsrivier. According to one learner standing with a ball under his arm after the handover, "nou kan ek rugby speel" (now I can play rugby). Swellendam Hospital received a donation of baby blankets and clothing on Wednesday 20th April. Blankets were all knitted and made by the ladies of the Rotary Coffee Morning Project at Pastor Joseph's Church. The baby clothes were knitted by Mrs Pauline O'Neil who resides in England and is a regular provider of knitted items to Rotary who then distribute them to the needy.
