On the 8th of March the Swellendam Rotary Club was honoured by a visit from District Governor Ian Robertson (district 9350) and Assistant Governor Jenny Howard. At 18h00 there was a meeting with the Club Directors and from 19h00 with the rest of the Club members and guests. The meeting took the form of a dinner in the Rotary Park dining room where a delicious meal was served. DG Ian gave an inspiring message to the Club. A recent visit on the 7th of February, to Barrydale by the Community Projects team of Swellendam Rotary was to establish if there was a need or project that the Rotary Club could become involved with. Members of the committee were suitably impressed with the work done by Net Vir Pret in the community. The Rotary Club of Swellendam are supporting the establishment of a food garden at St Luke's Church to provide food for those in need in the area. Rotarian, the Venerable Mario Hendricks, is pictured here with the project team of Past President Corrie Steyn. A fine haul of vegetables was also available at the Church Christmas Bazaar on the 4th December last year. There is space to expand the food garden in the coming months and secure a regular supply of vegetables for the
