"Uitruikende Hande"

"Uitreikende Hande" was established in Buffeljags by Felix Titus and Lillian Snyman. It is a Non-Profit Organisation that is supported by the Rotary Club of Swellendam, the object of which is to provide freshly grown vegetables to the immediate community at affordable prices. It aims particularly to assist the elderly and preschool children within the immediate community. After very hard work and a great deal of effort, the second phase of the project has been reached. Vegetables are now supplied to immediate local stores and today they hosted their table at the Under the Oaks market in Swellendam.

Rotary Family Health Days

Rotary Swellendam participated in a three day Rotary Family Health Day campaign. This initiative is as a result of a collaboration between the Rotarians and the Department of Health since 2013 to roll-out the campaign which has reached thousands of community members through interactive outreach activations by rendering health and wellness services. The package of services that is synonymous with this campaign includes (amongst others), HIV Testing Services, screening for Tuberculosis, Body Mass Index evaluation, immunization and screening for diabetes mellitus and hypertension.
