iPad Math Literacy Project

After two years of perseverance the iPad Math and Literacy Project will finally be launched on 14 March 2017 at the Swellendam Laerskool. The project has as its' aims the imparting of skills in Mathematics and Literacy to learners at an early age.

Great to see that the reservations are rolling in. Thank you – it really helps the organising team if we can all book early, so please encourage your fellow club members to register as well, and don’t forget to organise your accommodation. Good news from the US is that our RIPPR (Rotary International President’s Personal Representative) will be Past RI Director Ron Beaubien. He has been in the role of Aide to RI President John Germ and when offered the choice of where in the Rotary world he would most like to represent RIP John he chose District 9350 – of course! WELCOME STEPHEN

On 31st January 2017 AG Stephen Stocks was welcomed by President Noelene Cole as a member of Swellendam Rotary Club. Stephen's presence has already had a huge impact on the club. His IT skills, among others, were applied in the development of a website for the club, www.rotaryswellendam.org.za. He serves on the organizing committee for the District 9350 conference in Swellendam at the end of April. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial friendship.

GREYTON GETAWAY

Thirteen Swellendam Rotarians enjoyed a wonderful weekend away in Greyton where we had time to get to know one another and enjoy each others company. On Friday 20th January we booked into Greyton Lodge. The lodge is run by Heinrich and his wife and has lovely accommodation. After our welcoming drink we went off to a restaurant suggested by our host and the party began. The late night was followed by an early breakfast at which we were joined by three fellow Rotarians. Our day was spent visiting the local market, touring the town "on foot"and eating too much of the delicious food and cake on sale. Saturday nights dinner finished early and very tired Rotarians headed for a much needed night's
